Welcome to Beijing: Experts Say Northern Utah Air is Just as Bad

ANOTHER WEEK -- WITHOUT A MAJOR STORM, ACROSS NORTHERN UTAH -- HAS MADE OUR AIR QUALITY AS BAD AS IT NORMALLY IS IN BEIJING, CHINA.

THAT'S THE WORD FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

METEOROLOGISTS SAY THERE WERE 35 BAD AIR DAYS -- REQUIRING MANDATORY ACTION -- LAST YEAR, ALONG THE WASATCH FRONT.

THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN 21 SUCH DAYS, THIS WINTER.

UTAH LAWMAKERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONSIDER ANOTHER SERIES OF POSSIBLE NEW LAWS -- DURING THEIR LEGISLATIVE SESSION, THIS WINTER -- TO TRY TO IMPROVE AIR CONDITIONS.
