Two Northern Utah Wildfires Explode to More Than 1000 Acres Each

IT TOOK AWHILE FOR OUR UTAH WILDFIRE SEASON TO SWING INTO GEAR, THIS SUMMER... BUT IT'S GOING FULL-THROTTLE NOW.

IN TOOELE COUNTY, A BLAZE -- THAT WAS JUST 160 ACRES, EARLY TUESDAY MORNING -- IS NOW OVER A THOUSAND ACRES.

IT'S BURNING NEAR THE TOOELE GUN CLUB... ABOUT FOUR MILES OUTSIDE THE CITY.

A COUPLE OF DOZEN HOMES ARE NOW ON EVACUATION STAND-BY.

MEANTIME -- TO THE EAST -- A SECOND BLAZE HAS ALSO GROWN TO MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND ACRE.

THAT FIRE IS IN MORGAN CANYON, BETWEEN HENNIFER AND MORGAN CITY.

SO FAR, NO SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURAL DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED -- AT EITHER OF THE LARGE FIRES -- AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO INJURIES.
