Fire Claims a Garage, Shed and Two Vehicles in Salt Lake

EARLY IN THEIR INVESTIGATION, SALT LAKE FIRE OFFICIALS BELIEVE TRANSIENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR A 2-ALARM BLAZE TUESDAY MORNING, NEAR 13TH SOUTH, 9TH WEST.

THE FIRE CLAIMED A DETACHED GARAGE... A SHED... AND TWO CARS, AFTER STARTING IN THE BACK YARD OF AN ABANDONED HOME.

JASON ASAY, WITH CITY FIRE, SAYS A NEIGHBOR WAS AFRAID SOMETHING LIKE THIS MIGHT HAPPEN, BECAUSE HE HAD SEEN TRANSIENTS STARTING FIRES IN THE AREA.

SIX FIRE ENGINES -- AND THREE DOZEN FIREFIGHTERS -- RESPONDED TO THE BLAZE.

THERE WERE NO INJURIES.
