Drowning Victim Located in Layton Reservoir

THE BODY -- OF A 20-YEAR-OLD MAN, DROWNED IN LAYTON'S HOLMES CREEK RESERVOIR -- HAS BEEN RECOVERED, BY SEARCH AND RESCUE DIVERS.

TYLER FLINT, 20, WAS SPOTTED BY A SONAR SYSTEM, AND RECOVERED IN ABOUT 20 FEET OF WATER.

LAYTON POLICE LT. JASON HINOJOSA SAYS, THE TRAGEDY COULD HAVE BEEN AVERTED, IF THE VICTIM HAD OBEYED WARNING SIGNS, NOT TO SWIM.

A GROUP OF THREE SWIMMERS SET OUT TO CROSS THE SMALL RESERVOIR, THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

ONE OF THE VICTIM'S FRIENDS TOLD POLICE, TYLER TOLD THEM -- ABOUT HALFWAY ACROSS THE RESERVOIR -- HE DIDN'T THINK HE COULD MAKE IT.

SHORTLY AFTER THAT, HE DISAPPEARED UNDERWATER.

DIVERS FROM DAVIS AND WEBER COUNTIES...AND THE UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL... PARTICIPATED IN THE RECOVERY EFFORT.
