Confusion Reigns Across Southern Utah

ALTHOUGH UTAH'S FIVE NATIONAL PARKS REMAIN OPEN THIS WEEK -- THANKS TO THAT INFUSION OF STATE TAX DOLLARS -- MANY OTHER FEDERAL RECREATION LANDS IN OUR STATE ARE STILL CLOSED.

ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN UTAH, THAT'S CAUSING CONFUSION.

ONE TOURIST GUIDE -- BO BECK, OF ST. GEORGE -- HAS BEEN FIELDING A LOT OF VISITOR QUESTIONS.

HE SAYS SOME FEDERAL VISITOR CENTERS ARE CLOSED.  BUT UNGATED FEDERAL LANDS ARE STILL ACCESSIBLE.

OFFICIALS SAY, YOUR BEST BET -- IF YOU PLAN TO VISIT RED ROCK COUNTRY -- IS TO CHECK WITH THE TOURISM OFFICE, NEAREST YOUR DESTINATION, TO LEARN WHERE YOU CAN AND CAN'T GO.
